Pervious Alley Construction Update for Oak Terrace Preserve
Work on the alley ways in Phase 1 of the neighborhood are underway. The first section was completed in June and the second section will begin in mid-July. The construction helps complete the look and feel for the neighborhood and the pervious pavers are providing an excellent service to the community and the environment.
The pervious quality of these alleys is allowing rainwater to be absorbed into the ground rather than being guided away into storm water treatment plants. This mean less money treating water and more water reaching plants and ground water right where it lands.
For more information, see how these innovations are being studied by SC Sea Grant.
