In June 2008, 11 teenagers from South Carolina chased their dreams in the City that Never Sleeps. Residing at The Juilliard School, the kids underwent an intensive training program of acting, song, dance and movement. They were taught by some of New York’s top mentors.
The students didn’t just have to deal with a rigorous schedule of classes and auditions with eminent directors. They also had to cope with life in a big city – many of them for the first time – with a melting pot of performers aged 12-18. As they learn more about their craft and how to give an “honest,” believable performance, they also learn to look out for each other as they’re forced to grow a thick skin in the Big Apple.
