Century Oaks site plan (1970)
The image below is a site plan of the old Century Oaks neighborhood from 1970. Does it remind you of anything?
Century Oaks was originally a U.S. Government owned temporary housing complex for Naval Shipyard workers and their families. On this map you can see the single-family and duplex homes, the former road system and the commercial area near Lackawanna Blvd. Rumor has it the commercial area was one of the first shopping centers in North Charleston.
